Long-range accuracy and reliability
Advantages
- Using the Applied Ballistics library of bullet drag models, the bullet drag profile is accurately measured and corrections for aerodynamic jump, rotational drift, Coriolis, and drop scale factors are made for accurate long-range shooting.
- Advanced features include a customizable target card and advanced ballistics data table, as well as storage for up to 30 weapon and bullet profiles and 10 saved targets.
- Weather mode provides all of the Kestrel 5500's environmental measurement, storage, and charting capabilities, including wind speed, direction, crosswind, temperature, humidity, pressure, and altitude.
- Optional LiNK connectivity, powered by Bluetooth® low energy, provides wireless connectivity to mobile devices and computers, and integration with LiNK-compatible laser rangefinders for increased speed and accuracy. (Note: LiNK Dongle sold separately)
- The Kestrel LiNK for Ballistics app for Android and iOS provides full control of the weapon, as well as access to Applied Ballistics’ library of custom drag patterns that can be transferred to the Kestrel.
- The large, high-resolution, high-contrast graphic display is easy to read in the brightest sunlight. There is both bright white and red backlighting for night vision.
- Ability to choose resolution units (millimeters, true MOA, shooter's MOA, or clicks) – works with any weapon or scope.
- Rugged (drop tested to MIL-STD-810G standards), waterproof (sealed to IP67 standards).
