A set of two exclusive books "Walther - A German Success Story" was published on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the founding of the legendary Carl Walther arms company. Both publications are written entirely in English and are precisely printed on high-quality glossy coated paper. In total, this comprehensive set offers 808 pages of engaging reading, technical details and unique photographs.
Book 1 (370 pages)
The first volume maps in detail the history of the Carl Walther gun factory since its founding. It presents historical models preceding the legendary and revolutionary PP and PPK pistols . The story continues through the turbulent period of World War II, the subsequent re-establishment of the gun factory in Ulm, and modern production in the second half of the 20th century. The pistols produced in Zella-Mehlis (Model 1 to 9), the PP/PPK series models, the famous P38, World War II rifles (Model 41, G43) and the post-war Ulm production models PP/PPK, P1, TP/TPH, MP-L and MP-K submachine guns, as well as the P4, P5 and the top model P88 are described in detail.
Book 2 (438 pages)
The second volume focuses on the modern history of the brand, which is associated mainly with the multinational concern Umarex (which has owned the company since 1993). The book extensively deals not only with the original products still being produced directly at the arms factory in Ulm, but also with other products bearing the Walther logo produced in other factories. It describes modern service and defensive models of the P99, P990, P99c, PK380, PPQ, PPS and PPX pistols. A significant part is also devoted to sporting weapons - starting with the legendary Olympia model and pre-war submachine guns, through the post-war production of air and gas weapons, to the current top-class production of sporting pistols and rifles of the highest world category.
